Professor Lip, MD, is an academic clinical cardiologist and leads a large, multidisciplinary research group (including clinical and laboratory-based components). Professor Lip is a member of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and Chairs its scientific documents committee (2013-). He serves on the board of the Working Group on Thrombosis of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). He is a member of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacology of the ESC, and is also a member of the European Association of Percutaneous Coronary Revascularisation.
